TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, JOHN H. BROWN, of Geneseo, in the county of Livingston, and State of New York,

' have originated or invented a new Design for Mouldings for Making Picture-Frames, &c.; and I do hereby declare that the following is a. full and exact description thereof', reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.

The drawing represents a section or part of a moulding embodying the design. The object is to produce an ornamental moulding as an article of manufacture, which is put into the market in suitable lengths, and from which pieces may be cut as desired, to form picture-frames and similar articles. The design consists in making the face ofthe moulding rounding or convex in section, and providing it, at intervals, with ornamental ol'setsor shoulders, and lining it as hereinafter set forth.

As represented in the drawings, A is a section or part of a moulding, made rounding or convex in cross- /secti0n, as shown at a. The body ofthe moulding' is grained, or cut with coarse or fine lines, longitudinally, as shown at b. At intervals the moulding is provided with large-or small Oll`sets or shoulders, c c.

Y Mouldings made after this design, have a pleasing appearance to the eye, the olsets or shoulders, in connection with the lining, giving a line rustic elfect.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is` The design for mouldings as herein set forth. In witness whereof, I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
