DESIGN FOR A COVER FOR POCKET-BOOKS OR CARD-CASES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,173, dated January 18, 1898.
Application filed December 14,1897. Serial No. 661,902. Term of patent 3% years.

Be it known that I, JOHN MEHL, Jr., a citi zen of the United States, residing at Jersey City, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Covers of Pocket-Books or Card-Cases, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of a pocket-book or card-case cover embodying the features of my design, and Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
The leading feature of the design consists in embossed corner-panels A and B, having two straight outer edges a and a at angles to each other and a waved inner edge connectin g the outer edges. The waved edge of each panel is decorated with a bead a", and the detail formation of the waved edge of each panel is that of two shallow scallops b and 5', meeting at the center of the panel, and partial scallops b extending from the full seallops to the outer edges a and a of the cover. The minor feature of the design consists in depressed lines Z1 which connect with the waved edges of the panels at the junction of the scallops and converge at the intersection of the two outer sections a and a of the panels.
I claim The design for the cover for pocket-books and card-cases herein shown and described.
