DESIGN FOR TRAVELING BAGS AND SATCHELS.
Speciiication forming part of Design No. 9,687, dated January 2, 1877; application iled December 2, 1876.
' [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom Iit may concern Be itknown that I, WILLIAM HELLER, of the city, county, and State of New York, have originated a new Design for Satchel, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a face view. Fig. 2 is a section in the plane m Fig. 1. v

rIbis design consists of embossed strings of pearls a between the rectilinear ribs or beads b c, which extend across the face of the satchel A in a horizontal direction. Beneath these rectilinear ribs is a curved bead, d, above a fiat depression, e, and above said curved bead is an embossed string of pearls,f. Beneath the curved ornament are the pockets B for the closing-straps C. These pocketsv are ornameuted on their sides by rectilinear beads gg, with an intervening embossed string of pearls, h, and the bottom edges of said pockets are embellished by embossed roof-shaped ornaments i. The outer ends of the closing straps are ornamented by embossed arabesques j.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure |by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for a satchel, composed of rectilinear beads b c, in combination with embossed vstrings of pearls n. situated between the beads b c, as shown and described.
2. VThe combination of an embossed string of pearls, f, with the curved lines d e, as shown and described.
3. The design oi' the embossed roof-shaped ornaments z' for the strap pockets, as shown and described.
4. The design of the embossed arabesques j on the closing-straps C, as shown and described.
