T0 ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that we, GARnErrsoN SMITH and HENRY BROWN, of the city and county of' Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have originated and designed new and ornamental Patterns and Configurations for the Doors, Plates, and Panels of Cooking-Stoves, of which the accompanying photographic illustrations, forming a part of this specification, and the following explanation, furnish an exact and faithful delineation and description.
`Figure 1, of the accompanying photograph, is a view in perspective of the front and side of our newlydesigned cook-stove, and
Figure 2 a view of the front plates and doors thereof.
A, in said views, represents our ornamental design for the front doors and small side doors of the stove,
` consisting of an elliptical centre piece, with a border of beaded work, relieved by scroll-work and projections, as
clearly shown in figs. 1 and 2. B represents our design for the large side or oven doors of the stove, similar in its general features to that just described for the smaller doors, and iu harmony therewith, but extended and elaborated, as seen in the photograph, fig. 1, to cover the surface of the larger door and its irregular shape. C represents our design for a moulding for the upper portion of the sides ofthe stove immediately under its top plate. D, an ornamental scroll to occupy the spaces on the sides of the stove under the smaller side doors; and E E, mouldings, for the corners and for the lower edge of the side plates ofthe stove. F, the letters NEW PATAPSCO, to be combined with other letters and figures required to designate the numbered size ofthe stove, and the fact and date of a patent for its design, and to be placed upon a plate over the doors in the front of said stove, as seen in fig. 2.
Having thus described our new and ornamental design for a cook-stove, what we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The configuration of the designs above described, and illustrated in the accompanying views, applied to the ornamentation of a cook-stove, as herein set forth.
