EDWIN O. TOWNSEND, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A MONUMENT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,729, dated October 12, 1897.
' Application filed August 20, 1897- Serial No. 648,962. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWIN O. TOWNSEND, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Monument, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof, in which is presented a perspective View of a monument embodying the fea- Another feature of the design consists in 20 mounting the column A on a polygonal subbase E the top whereof is chamfered from the column, forming facets corresponding to the faces of the column, and, further, in supporting the subbase B by a main base F,
treated in the same manner as the subbase.
Another feature of the design consists in decorating the faces of the column A at the base and at the corners of its faces with bars from which foliated figures are projected.
I claim The design for a monument herein shown and described.
