DESIGN FOR A THREAD CASE OIR CABINET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,405, dated July 20, 189'?. Application iiled Tune 10,1897. Serial No. 640,255. Term of patent 7 years.

Be it known that I, ESSTNGTON N. GILFIL- LAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original 'Design or useful Shape for Thread Cases or Cabinets, of which the following, in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a full, clear, and exact specilication.

In the said drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of a spool case or cabinet embodying my design, looking from the front; and Fig. 2 is a rear elevation thereof.

The leading features of my design consist of a spool-case, oblong in plan view, with rounded ends and each end having a semicylindrical open front extending partially throughout its height.

-The general formation of the cabinet is oblong in plan view with rounded ends, like the two halves of a cylinder, each secured to the end of an oblong body. Each of these semicylindrical ends is provided with an opening A in its front, extending partially throughout the height thereof and displaying a number of vertically arranged partitions B. J ust below this opening A in each end is an oblong opening C, in each of which are set two curved doors or slides D. Just below the level of the opening C extends ahorizontal bead E, which continues around the cabinet or case over a plain panel or surface F, which also surrounds the cabinet and in one side ot' which is set a drawer G, having knob g, the base of the cabinet being constituted by an ornamental bead H. In one side of the cabinet above the drawer G is located a rectangular panel I, surrounded by an ornamental bead i, while the opposite side is provided with a similar pan el I', su rrounded by a similar bead t'. Whole is surnounted by a top piece J, having its under edge beaded and inclining toward the body of the cabinet. At each end of the top is located a knob K, and at a short distance from each of these is a pear-shaped piece L, resting upon the top.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new therein, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The new and original design or useful shape for a spool case or cabinet substantially as herein shown and described.
