ROD FOR DISPLAY-RACKS.
SPECIFICATION formin part Of Letters Patent No. 650,630, dated. May 29, 1900.

To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, MoRRIs A. I-IEIMANN, of the city of St. Louis, State of Missouri,- have invented certain new and usefnlImproveinents in Rods for Display=Racks, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part hereof.
This invention relates to rods for displayracks; and it consists of the novel features of construction hereinafter described and claimed The figure is a side elevation showing my improved rod and its application to a suitable support. 7
In the construction of this device, as shown,
I provide a continuous rod 1, bent into a plurality of obverse and reverse curves or scallops 2,1by which are formed recesses 3, the entrances to which are narrower than their base and which are for the purpose of supporting'cross-bars 4, on which are to be placed various articles for display. On one end of the continuous rod 1 is formed a half-circle hook 5, and on the other end of said rodand .bent oppositely from the hook 5 is an ellip ticallyshaped hook 6. The tip of each of the said hooks is provided with a knob, which knobs are for the purpose of presenting a neat and finished appearance.
7 indicates a suitable support of ordinary construction, the same being provided with a plurality of apertures through which the hooks 5 6 may be passed, the said rod being held laterally in position by means of the radially-arranged flanges 8. When so arranged, the rod will be supported in any ad- 3' ustment in which it may be placed, the hooks binding against the inner surfaces of the aperture in which they are held. Different adjustments of the rod are shown in dotted lines in the drawing.
I claim- As an article of manufacture, a corrugated rod formed with a series of obverse and reverse curves or scallops 2 by which are formed recesses 3, the entrances to which recesses are smaller or narrower than their base\or bottom, an elliptically-shaped hook 6 on one end of said rod and a half-circle hook 5 on the other end of said rod, and formed oppositely from the former of said hooks, substantially as specified.
