DESIGN FOR A SPROCKET-WHEEL CHAIN-GUARD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,389, dated July 20, 1897.
Application filed June 9, 1897. Serial No. 640,074. Term of patent 3-1- years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that LHAREIsoN H. ROUNTEEE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new, useful, and original Design for SprocketlVheel and Driving-Chain Guards or Shields for Bicycles, of which the following is a speci-' frame A is occupied by a light open-work Web A, in which is formed a suitable opening or openings adapted to receive the parts of the bicycle when said guard or shield is applied thereto.
The essential features of my present invention consist in the contour of the shield or guard and in the configuration of the openwork web, they being made to represent the wing of a bird.
I claim The design for a sprocket-wheel and driving-chain guard or shield for bicycles, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have hereunto set my hand, this 7th day of June, 1897, in the presence of tWo witnesses.
