FRANK THOMPSON, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR OF 'llVO-TIIIRDS TO THOMAS A. FRASER AND OTTO W. MEYSENBURG, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BODY-BOLSTER FOR RAILWAY-CARS.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 27,351, dated July 13, 1897.
Application filed June 3, 1897. Serial No. 63 9,345. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that LFRANK THOMPSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and original Design for a Body-Bolster for Railway-Oars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation of my newlydesigned bod y-bolster for railway-cars. Fig. 2 is a bottom view of the same. Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken on the line y y of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the upper plate A of the b0dy-bo1ster,a straight piece of material, and the lower plate B, so bent that at its center a it is parallel with the upper plate A, and from both sides of which central portion a it is inclined suflicicntly to bring its ends in contact with the ends of the upper plate A.
Between the .two plates A and B are two webs O of a shape corresponding to the shape of the space between said plates, each web 0, as shown clearly in Fig. 3, being set back a short distance from the edges of said plates.
Having described my invention, What I claim is- The design for a body-bolster for railwaycars, substantially as herein shown and described.
