A. FRASER, ANI) OTTO lV. MEYSENBURG, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A TRUCK-BOLSTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,099, dated May 25, 1897.
Application filed April 14, 1897. Serial Nn. 632.182. Term of patent 14 years.
To /LZZ whom] it 17u11/ muc/111:1..
lle it known that I, FRANK THOMPSON@ citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and Slate of Illinois, have invented and prod need a new and original Design for Trnck-Bolstcrs for Railway- Cars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure l is a side View of my newly-designed truck-bolster for railway-cars. Fig. 3 is a plan View of the same. Fig. 3 is a sectional View taken on the line c ne of Fig. l.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in forming the upper and lower plates A and B of the truck-bolster so that they7 approach each other at their ends and at their centers are substantially eqnidistant from a straight line drawn from the points of contact of the ends of the two plates, or, in other words, these two plates form when viewed from the side, as in Fig. .1, an approximation toan elongated diainond-shaped gure. The plates A and l) are Hat-tened at their centers, as indicated, rcspeotively, by o and b. A web C of an approximately elongated diamond shape is interposed between the two plates A and Il, which webs, as shown clearly in Fig. 3, are set back a short distance from the edges of said plates.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire lo secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a truck-bolster for railwaycars, substantially as herein shown and described.
FRANK THOMPSON.
