TO ALL WHOM IT MAY GONCERN: I
Be it known that I, C. O. BENTON, of of Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga, and State of Ohio, have originated and designed a new Design for a Trade-Mark for the purpose of placing upon boxes oftroches of my manufacture; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and complete description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specication.
The figure represents the design of the trade, the description of which is as follows: The word Bcntons is placed above the others, the top of the letters being straight and the bottom curving, as shown in the drawing. In the centre of the field is a pine tree, on 4the left side of which is the word Pine and on the right side the word Tree. Underneath the tree is the word Tar in large letters representing the limbs of trees. Under the base of the tree is the word Troches in letters similar to the word B entons, the top of the letters being curving and the bottom straight. The whole is surrounded by a double line in the form of an oblong square.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a trade-mark, substantially as herein set forth and shown.
