DAVID SAUNDERSON, OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, ASSIGNOR TO JOHN RINGEN IMPROVED MODE 0F BOXING OIL-SANS.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY OONCERN:

Beit known that I, DAVID SAUNDERSON, of the city and county of St. Louis, State of Missouri, hnve invented aJ new and useful Method for Boxing Oil-Cans, called Su'undersons Can-Box; :rnd I do hereby declare the following is avfull and exact description of the same, reference' being had to the annexed draw'- ing, and- The nature of my invention consists in providing the box with a wedge, -so esto tighten the can in the box when being shipped, end to prevent the nozzle from injury and when the can is to be emptied of its contents the wedge serves to throw the nozzle out from the surface of the box, so the contents lmuy run out freely.

Figure 1 represents a. perspective view of Saundersons cen-box, of which A is aJ block or wedge; B isa.'

Now, when the-wedge is put in et the aperture O, it presses the can down on the bottoinot the box B, vund depresses the nozzle beneath the level of the top of the box, in which cese itnmy be shipped with safety to thenozzle G.

When the can is to be emptied of its contents, remove the wedge A-end place it in the bottom at D, and the can is elevated and the nozzle is projected from `the wooden box, iu which case the Huid muy be poured from the can without interruption from ther box.

Now, what I claim as my invention, and'for which I ask Letters Patent of the United States to be granted, is- 'The combination of the wooden box B, een F, end wedge A, as above named and described, and for tbe purposes set forth. l DAVID SAUNDERSON.
