DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,052, dated May 11, 1897. Application filed April 2, 1897. Serial No. 630,480. Term of patent 33- years.

110 it known that I, ANNA K. MAY, a citizen of the l'nited States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following is a specification, reference being had more particularly to the accompanying drawing, illustrating the same and forming part hereof.
The leading feature of my design comprises a Chinese or Japanese pattern of bars made up of little figures and intersecting each other from dilt'crent directions to constitute grounds on which appear ornaments grouped to form single figures.
In the drawing, a is the body, I) ando b the complete carpet.
c are little figures which make up the bars (I, that intersect each other in a zigzag manner, leaving grounds f between them.
g are ornaments made up of little figures and displayed singly on the grounds f.

The design of my invention will be best understood by reference to tho accompany ing drawing, and it may he expressed in dift'erent colors or combination o[ colors and applied to velvet, \Villon, ln'usst-ls, ingrain, and other carpets.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patient, is
