GEORGE STARK, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A FENCE-RAIL SUPPORT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,397, dated April 14, 1896. Application filed January 28,1396- Serial No. 577,211- Term of patent '7 years.
T0 to whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE STARK, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Fence-Rail Supports, of which the followingis aspecification.
My novel design relates to fence-rail supports-such, for instance, as are employed in the construction of a picket or similar fence.
Upon the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, the same letters of reference denote like or corresponding parts upon both the figures, and of which Figure 1 shows a front elevation of my novel design of a fence-rail support. Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same.
The leading features of my design consist in a support having an oblong angular recess in one edge thereof and provided with a flange extending outwardl with the walls of said recess.
A indicates the main portion of the support, which is provided with screw-holes a a upon each end thereof. The outer edge of said portion A is of a scalloped contour, as fully appears in Fig. 1.
B indicates an oblong angular recess formed within the main portion, and provided with a flange C upon its face, which is substaniiall at a right angle to the portion A, and having an edge of pleasing and novel appearance. Said flange is further ornamented with a hole 0 upon one side thereof, as fully appears in Fig. 2. Upon each side of the main portion are formed suitable pointed lugs E, located near the corners of the recess and formed integral with the support.
I form in addition to the above atlraclive ribs D 1) upon the four corners of the structure, the ribs I) being formed at substantially a right angle to the top and bottom walls of the recess B.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Design Leiters Patent, is
The design for a fence-rail support, substantially as herein shown and described.
Signed at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, this Bid (lay of January A. D. 1896.
GEORGE STARK.
