UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD R. SARGENT, OF NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE SARGENT & COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A LOCK-CASE.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 32,158, dated January 30, 1900.
Application filed July 26, 1899. Serial No. 725,198. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD R. SARGENT, of the city and county of New Haven, in the State of Connecticut, have invented a new and original Design for Lock-Cases, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in which Figure 1 is a top view of a lock-ease, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a bottom View of the same, and Fig. 3 an edge View of the same.
In all figures similar letters of reference represent like parts.
As shown by the accompanying drawings,
the leading or material feature of my design consists in its outline, which is that of two hollow parts A and B, the one part, A, having a periphery of substantially circular form and the other, 13, a periphery of substantially the form of a segment of a circle, the line 0 being the chord thereof. The two parts A and B overlap or intersect on a line a b, so that the chord C is at right angles to a line uniting the centers of the two circles. Circular holes D are shown; but these are minor features of my design.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for alock-case, as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses, this 24th day of July, 1899.
EDWARD R. SARGENT. Witnesses:
WILLIAM A. Bron, NELLIE M. WEDMORE.
