DESIGN FOR CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,296, dated May 7, 1895.

Application filed March 27, 1895. Serial No. 543.408. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, JOHN MATTHEWS, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Brdgenorth, county of Salop, England, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Carpet, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making a part of the same, and is sufficient to enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention.

The border B, consists of a series of narrow ornamental cross-stripes, and one wide stripe ornamented with diamonds, squares and other ornamental figures as shown.

The body A consists of a series of diamonds,

squares, and other ornamental shaped figures as shown in the accompanying drawing.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design for a carpet, the body A sub- 2 stantially as shown.

2. In a design for a carpet, border B substantially as shown.

3. The design for a carpet, consisting of body A, and border B, substantially as shown. 2 1
