D?.51U6 EX DESIGN.
J. JACOBS.
LENS FOR VAULT LIGHTS.
No. 23,083. Patented Feb. 20, 1894.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JACOB JACOBS, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIG N FOR A LENS FOR VAULT-LIGHTS.
SPECIFICA'IION forming part of Design No. 23,083, dated February 20, 1894.
Application filed January 22, 1894. Serial No. 497,716. Term of patent 14 years.
.To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JACOB JACOBS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York city, in the county of New York, and in the State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Design for a Lens for Vault-Lights or Illuminating-Tiles; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in Which-- Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a lens for vault-lights or illuminating tiles, made in accordance with my design, and Fig. 2, a plan view of the same.
Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in each of the figures.
In the drawings A designates the body of the lens, which, as seen in plan view, is in the shape of an octagon, having alternate straight and concave sides a and a, respectively. The shape of the lens is then substantially such as would be made by taking a square block and cutting from the corners thereof pieces whose inner faces are rounded convex ones.
A lens formed in accordance with my design, shown and described, is, by itself, neat and attractive in appearance, and, when put together with others in a suitable frame, to make a vault-light or illuminating tile, produces in the finished article a very ornamental and pleasing effect.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is- The design for lens for vault-lights or illuminating tiles, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 30th day of March, 1893.
JACOB JACOBS.
