DESIGN FOR A LENS FOR VAULT-LIGHTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,388, dated May 2, 1893.
Application filed March 31, 1893- Serial No. 468,571 Term of patent 14 years.
To In? {r71 out it may COILCUIIL:
lle it known that I, Jacon .lxrons, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county of New York, and in the 'Qtate of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Design for a Iieus for Vault- Lights, &c.; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure I. shows a perspective viewof a lens or glass made in accordance with my design, and Fig. 2, a plan view of the same.
Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in each of the figures.
The objectof my invention has been to prvide a new, useful, and original design for that part of a lens or glass for vault lights or illuminating tiles whose outer face is exposed in the finished light or tile, so that an ornamental and attractive appearance will be im parted to not only the lens or glass, but also to the tile or light in which it is used, and, to this end my invention consists in the design as hereinafter specified, and shown in the drawings.
In the drawings, A designates the body or main part of the glassor lens, and A the part thereof which has itsouter face exposed, when the glnssor lens is in place in the usual supporting vault light or tile frame. Such part has its side formed of a series of rounded projections a, set at certain distances apart, so as to leave spaces 1' between their bases. When a lens, with its part A so formed, is embedded in the usual holding cement employed to fasten the lenses in a vault lighter illuminating tile frame, the edge of such part, havingtheconfigurationshownanddescribed, has a veryornamentaland attractive appearance, and makes the light or tile, in which the lens is used, most neat and pleasing to the eye.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is The design fora lens or glass for vault lights and illuminating tiles, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this th day of I ebruary, A. I). N9
