DESIGN FOR A CAN-OPENER.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design 22,810, dated September 26, 1893. Application filed August 31, 1893. Serial No. 434,521- Terzn of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that We, AUGUST F. MEISSEL- BACH and WILLIAM MEISSELBACH, citizens of the United States, residing at Newark, Essex county, New Jersey, have invented a certain new and original Design for Can-Openers, fully described and represented in the following specification and the accompanying drawings, forming a part of the same.
This design is embodied in the can opener shown in the annexed drawings, in which- Figure l is a side view and Fig. 2 an edge view of the implement.
The knife is formed with the body portion a set in the face of the handle I) and downwardly ofiset blade portion 0 with sharp upper edge (I. The handle I) is straight, with lateral channels e and expanded end f; having upon the opposite end and upon the rear side a thin blade g extending from its end at 20 a slight angle with the knife.
The leading features of the design are the shape of the knife, with the blade portion oilset from the body portion, and the handle with expanded end opposite to that carrying the knife.
Having thus set forth the natn re of the de sign, what we claim herein is The design for a can opener herein shown and described.
