DESIGN FOR A METALLIC FASTENER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,654, dated August- 1` 1893.
Application filed July 6,1893. Serial No. 479,758. Term ni" patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE W'. MCGILL, a citizen ofthe United States, residing at Riverdale, New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Metallic Fasteners, of which the following is a specification.
This design has for its object to provide a novel and ornamental metallic fastener, and consists in a fastener having an oval head provided with a convex upper surface having a central boss with cscalop-shaped ribs radiating therefrom and terminating within a rim or border, and a lower surface from the ecnter of which extend two superimposed prongs.
The design is illustrated in the accompany ing drawings, in which- Figure l is a plan view of the oval top of the fastener and Fig. 2 is a side elevation in perspective of the fastener.
In the drawings the numeral l indicates the oval convex head having a central boss 2 from which radiate the escalop-shaped ribs 3,
terminating within the oval ri ni or border 4; and the numeral 5 indicates the lower-surface from the center of which extend two superimposed prongs (i and 7, of different lengths.
The design provides a novel and ornamental metallic fastener, which presents a striking and characteristic appearance.
That I claim is- 'lhe design for a metallic fastener havingr an oval or elliptical-shaped head provided with a convex upper surface havin; fi central boss with escalop-shaped ribs radiatingT there from and terminating within n ri ni or border, and a lower surface from the centerof which extend two superimposed prongs. substantially as shown and described.
