DESIGN FOR A DISH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,1 17, dated January 10, 1893.
Application filed October 1.1 1892. Serial No. 448,584. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may eon-earn:
Be it known that I, THEODORE HAVILAND, a citizen of the lfnited States, residing at Ambazae,in the Department of the iIaute-Yienne and Republic of France, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Oyster-Plates; and I do hereby declare the following to he a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being bad to the aceolnpanyingdrawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1. is a plan and Fig. 2. a cross section showing the design.
The leading feature of my design consists in a plate of shallow form, eoneaved and provided with a series of irregular shell like projections rising from the eoneaved interior, the projeetionsat the eenterof the dish being more elevated than toward the periphery.
In the drawings l; represents the highest projections; C. the outer elevations passing into the periphery.
A. represents the irregular spaces of the dish between the several projections and elevations. Each of these series of projections and elevations is in the siniilitude of a conventionalized sea plant or sea fern with the filaments passing out from a main vein or stem. The design shows liveof the said conventionalized ferns. The filaments have a general direction toward the deepest portion of the dish.
