CHAMBER VESSEL.
No. 18,260. Patented Apr. 17, 1888.
Ilijl H552. Invent/m JOHN A. DAVIS, OF
DESIGN FOR A C PATENT OFFICE.
SPRINGFIELD, OIIIO.
HAMBER-VESSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,260, dated April 17, 1888. Application filed March 1, 1888. Serial No. 205,866. Term of patent '7 years :0 which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a top view of a chamber-vessel embodying my design. Fig. 2 isa vertical sec tion of a chamber-vessel, showing that part embracing my design in elevation. Fig. 3 is 15 a cross-section of the beaded edge a on lines 1 2, Figs. 1, 2.
The leading feature of my design consists in the form of the top or free edge of the diaphragm. This is formed with a downward 2o curve from where its respective ends are joined to the wall of the chamber-vessel toward the middle part, so that the latter shall be the lowest part of said free edge.
A is the chambenvessel, which is circular in its general contour. the same. This latter has a round or beaded top edge, a, curved in contour from where its endsjoin the wall of the vessel A, just below the top, toward the middle part,so that when viewed in elevation the middle portion of the edge a is the lowest, and its contour is nearly that of a section of a circle. This form of the edge a can be made irrespective of the shape of the inclined surface of the diaphragm, which may be concave, concave convex, or flat without materially departing from my invention.
I claim- The design herein shown and specified,c0nsistiug of the chamber-vessel A, having a diaphragm, B, formed with the middle portion of its top edge, (t, lower than the ends.
In testimony whereof I alfix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
