D ESIGN FOR A DUST-PAN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,676, dated October 2, 1894.
Application filed August 22,1894. Serial No. 521,037. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARY O. PAYNE, acitizen of thelTnited States, residing at South Ilaven, in the county of Van Buren and State of 5 Michigan, have invented a new and original Design for I)ust-lans, of which the following is a specification.
Theinvention relates to :1 new and original design for dust pans.
o The object of the present invention is to provide an attractive dust-pan possessing an ornamental and useful form, and the essen tial feature resides in an inclined dust-pan provided with a curved truncated elliptical 5 handle extending downward and rearward from the back of the pan, and upward and forward, and terminating in a Y-shaped extension, having diverging arms arranged heneath the pan.
0 In the drawings-Figure 1 isa perspective view of a dust-pan showing my new and original design. Fig.2 is avertical sectional view, the handle being shown in elevation.
Referring to the drawings, 1 designates an inclined dust-pan provided at its back with a handle 2, having a truncated elliptical shape. The upper portion of the handle curves rearward and downward from the back of the dust-pan, and then upward and forward, and the lower portion of the handle, terminates in a Y-shaped extension 3. The Y-shaped extension is arranged beneath the pan, and the arms 4 and 5 extend upward to the lower face of the pan. At the hack of the handle is a ring 6.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a dust-pan herein shown and described.
