SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,019, dated November 29, 1892.
Application filed October 28, 1892. Serial No. 450,288. Term of patent 7 years.
To a/ZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HERMAN IHLENBUEG, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for a Font of Printing-Type, of which the following is a specification.
My design for a font of printingftype is clearly illustrated in the accompanying typographical impression.
The general feature of the design is the light appearance of the characters, which are, however, heavy-faced.
The font consists of the upper and lower-case letters and the Arabic numerals. case and numerals are in keeping with the upper-case characters. All the main lines of the characters are tapered 'and solid. The lines of the letter A are curved as well as tapered, and the left-hand line of the letter H is also curved, terminating in a scroll, and
The loWerthe right-hand line of the letter M is curved, and extending from theright-hand lower corner of each of the letters A, C, K, M, N, Q, and R are curved lines. The horizontal limb of the letter L is also eX- tended in keeping with the above letters. The lines of the letters V, 'W, and Y are curved as well as tapered, and the letters CC F, (C G, (1,37 C( J, (C Q, (t S7, 66T?, ornamented by short scrolls.
I claim- The design for a font of type, substantially as described, and shown in the accompanying typographical impression.
