Description

C. H. PALMER, Jr. CARRIAGE BODY.
No. 21.936. Patented Oct. 25,1892.

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DESIGN FOR A CARRIAGE-BODY.
SIECIFIGATION forming part of Design No. 21,935, dated October 25, 1892. Application filed J une 2'7, 1892. Serial No. 438,213- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES H. PALMER, J r., a citizen of the United States, residing at Ameshury, in the county of Essex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Carriage-Body, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part hereof.
The accompanying drawing in perspective shows my design, and as both sides of the vehicle are alike one view is deemed suificient.
The leading feature of my design consists in a vehicle-body wherein the upper panel seemingly supplants the lower one, thereby imparting to the body side an effect upon the eye entirely difierent than if the lower panel was not seemingly cut 0% by the upper one.
Said drawing exhibits the top at A, the body at B, the vertical side whereof constitutes the lower panel, the upper panel at D, the sunken bottom at C, and the cut-down portion at E. The panel D extends down across B to part C and in appearance continues forward as a narrow portion to the front of the body, while part B seems to terminate at D, thereby imparting to the upper panel a seeming prominence and aesthetic effect that otherwise it would not possess.
I claim as my invention- The design for a carriage-body, substantially as described and shown.
CHARLES H. PALMER, JR.
