To all whom it TIMI/y concern:
Be it known that I, ALFRED LADNER, a citizen of the Republic of France, and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a Design for a \Vatch-Ohain, of which the following is a specification.
My design for a watch-chain is fully illustrated in the accompanyingdrawing, the main feature of my design being the representation, in miniature, of a number of the tools used by machinists in their trades, interspersed with emblems of the trade, as fully shown in said drawing, which represents the chain extended.
The bar a of the chain is represented as a miniature S-wrench. This bar is connected to the emblem b, representing a steam-governor, which in turn is connected to a miniature pair of outside calipers c, the arms 0 of these calipers being connected by two chains to a representation (1 of a gear-W11 eel, and this representation of agear-wheel is in turn connected to the legs of a pair of inside calipers e, which are connected to a square f. g is the miniature representation of a hammer connected at one end to the square and at the opposite end to the snap h.
I claim The design for a watch-chain, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
