SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,277, dated November 11, 1890.
Application filed September 18: 1890. Serial No. 365443 Term of patent 7 years- To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAPHET b. Uosson, a citizen of the United States, residing at Frodonia, in the county of Chautauqua and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Pads for liarness Breast'Straps; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings. forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 isaplan View of my harnessbreaststrap pad, showing my design. Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same; and Fig. 3 is a crosssectional View of the design, these three views being deemed necessary to illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in a flat portion having parallel edges, which are scalloped transversely and tapered longitudinally, and terminates in abrupt unsealloped ends. Viewed edgewise each edge represents numerous rounded surfaces, all being equal in length.
A designates the body of the breaststrap pad, which may be made of any suitable material; but i prefer loll. 'lhis breast-strap pad presents scallops a. on its longitudinal edges, and when viewed odgewisethe pad tapers from to the extreme ends I) (1, the pad being thickest in the middle, as represented in the edge View, Fig. 2. At given points certain pieces or straps are applied. 'lhcse straps may or may not be used.
In my improved design it will be seen that there are loops applied to the pad. These loops constitute one of the essential features of my design. They are straps havingbuckles arranged in proper order of the design; crinstead of the buckles simply loops can be substituted, if preferred.
