SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,957, dated December 20, 1887. Application led September 28, 1887. Serial No. 250.910. Term ol patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY FAWGETT, a. snbject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Kidderminster, England, have invented and 5 produced a certain new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had t0 the accompanying drawing, forming a, part of this specification.
ro My design has relation more particularly to loop and cut pile carpets and to those woven with a border. It is illustrated in the drawing as composed of a center or body proper within a surrounding solid line, and a border I5 with corner-pieces. The center consists ofA a number of blocks or squares made up of a. series of small figures appropriately grouped, as therein shown, while the border consists of four parallel rows of figures, as shown, with corner-pieces of appropriate size, but of diifer 2C ent design. v
1. The design for the center or body of the carpet, substantially as shown and described.
2. The design for the border of the carpet, z5 substantially as shown and described.
3. The design for a. bordered carpet, consisting of the center and border, substantially as shown and described.
