DESI GN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,964, dated December 20, 1887.

Application filed September 26, 1987. Serial No. 250,981. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, HENRY FAWCETT, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Kidderminster, England, have invented and 5 produced a certain new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a. in", clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification.

My design is applicable more particularly to loop and cut pile carpets and to those woven with a border. It is illustrated in the drawing as consisting of a center or body proper of floral design, with a. double border, the inner :5 one of two parallel rows of figures, the larger being of floral design, and the outer border contsining a row of crowns surmounting Britishnational emblems, with floral design between.

I claim- 1. The design for the center or body proper 20 of the carpet, substantially as shown and described.

2. The design for the border of the carpet, substantially as shown and described.

3. The design for a. bordered carpet, consist- 2 ing of the center and border, substantially as shown and described.
