DESIGN FOR FURNITURE-GIMP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,912, dated March 3, 1885.
Application filed November 514, 1884.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES WILLIAM JACKSON, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for FurnitureGimp, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a. plan view of my design. Fig. 2 is an edge view. Fig. 3 is a back view of the gimp on the face of which is placed my new design.
Heretofore gimp has been woven or braided of two or more difierent materials, ornamented by various designs, presenting raised and flat surfaces of different form and shape. A is the filling of the gimp. B B are inside cords embodying a part of my design in the manner illustrated in the drawings. Cis also Term ofpatcnt 14 years.

The base or body upon or in which my design, consisting of the fiat body portion D A, the double row of ball-like tufts U C, and the divergent central ornamentation, BB, is placed is so woven as to present a comparatively flat and unbroken appearance.
\Vhat I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a furniture gimp herein shown and described, consisting of the flat body portion D A, thedo-nble row of ba1l-like tufts C C, and the divergent central ornamentation, B B, as shown and described.
