Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANTON J. ROLLERT, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO THE THEODORE A. KOCHS COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BARBERS CHAIR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,847, dated December 20, 1898.
Application filed February 2,1898. Serial No, 668,894. 'Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ANTON J. ROLLERT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ohicago, in the county of Cook, State of Illinois,
have invented and produced a new and original Design for Barbers Chairs, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof, in which the figure is a perspective view of a chair showing my new design. As shown in the drawing, the leading or material features of my design consist in the production of a novel base and a novel seatframe, both of said parts being shaped and ornamented as hereinafter fully described.
The base as a whole is indicated byA, and consists of a central portion a, of polygonal shape, from which project legs b. Each leg b is on its upper edge divided into three distinct faces by reason of said faces being formed on lines of different curves. The two upper faces 0 and d are concave, with the face 0 projecting slightly beyond the face (I, and the lower face e being convex and provided with slight longitudinal grooves, as shown.
The under edge of each leg is provided with a series of curved faces, as shown.
B indicates the side of the seat-frame of the chair, which. is gently curved, as shown, and rises at each end to form two gracefullycurved projections ff, each of which is ornamented as shown. Extending across from end to end of this side piece B is a curved band g, that terminates at each end in an ornamental scroll and projection, as shown, a plain surface being left beneath the said band, as indicated in the drawing.
It is apparent that the features of my design above set forth are applicable to dentists and other chairs.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is as follows:
The design for a barbers chair, substantially as herein described and shown.
ANTON J. ROLLERT.
