Be it known that I, AUGUST THONET, a citizen of the Empire of Austria-Hungary, residing at Vienna, in the Empire of Austria-Hungary, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Chairs,of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a design for a chair in which the upward extensions of the hind legs terminate in a broad curved back plate having slightly-curved upper and lower edges and rounded-off corners.

The nature of my design is shown in the accompanying drawing, which represents a perspective view of the chair embodying my design.

A in the drawing represents the seat, and B the hind feet, of the chair, which are extended in upward direction above the seat a broad curved plate or back 0, which is provided with curved upper and lower edges and with rounded-off corners. The back plate C is provided with suitable ornamentation on its face.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a chair, substantially as herein shown and described.
