Description

UNITED STATES PATENT 'OEEIQEO.
XVILLIAM \V. LOiVREY, OF BROOKLYN, NEXV YORK.
DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,945, dated December 13, 1887.
Application filed November 9, 1887. Serial No. 254,730. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM \V. LOWREY, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bottles, of which the following is a specification, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof.
Figure I is a perspective View of the new design, and Fig. II a top view of the same.
According to my design the exterior shape of the body of the bottle is as follows: The bottom is bounded at the back by a straight line, at the front by an elliptical line, and the sides or edges are parallel and with the cor 11ers next to the back cutoff. Thetop is spheroidal, and the whole body is of a common shape in crosssection throughout its entire length. In other words, the back A is flat, the front 13 elliptical in a horizontal plane, and the edges G, which unite the front to the back, have their corners cut off, as at a. The front, back, and sides rise or extend vertically from the base, and the neck is smaller in diameter than the width of the body from front to back. 7
Viewed from the rear of the bottle, the back A is rectangular, except that the top is rounded or curved, and it is bounded at the sides by the beveled edges.
Seen from the front of the bottle, the curved or elliptical face and the spherical top are in View. 7
The neck D is of the usual shape and provided with a band, 0, as is common.
WVhat I claim is- A design for a bottle which consists of a bottom bounded at the back by a straight line, at the front by an elliptical line, parallel sides or edges having the corners next to the back out off, and asphcroidal top, and the whole being parallel or of a common shape in cross section throughout the entire length of the body, substantially as described and shown.
