BRIDGET RYAN, OF LONG ISLAND CITY, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A DRESS-SHIELD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,398, dated December 3, 1901.
' Application filed April 29, 1901- Serial No. 58,079- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BRIDGET RYAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Long Island City, in the county of Queens and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Dress-Shield, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
The leading feature of my design is a dressshield of substantially the configuration and representation shown in the drawings.
In the accompanying drawings I have shown a dress-shield embodying my design.
In the drawings, Figure I is a side or face View of the dress-shield, and Fig. II is a View of the opposite face.
In the drawings, A indicates the body of the dress-shield, having a scalloped full lower portion, shown in the drawings as below the line a; a: in Fig. I. This lower A portion is formed with a large scallop at the lowermost portion thereof, flanked on each side by scallops f.- Projecting upward from the lower portion, on each side thereof, are curved tapered tabs b. The curved inner edges 0 of the tabs I) join the curve d of the full lower portion of the shield, and the outer curved edges e of the said tabs formed with the outer curved edges of the scallops f of the shield reentrant angles g.
The width of the tapered curved tabs 6 as represented, for instance, along the line y 'y is considerably less than the width of the full lower or body portion as represented by the line 2 ,2.
What I claim is-- The design for a dress-shield substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
