ALBERT PATITZ, OF MERIDEN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE BRADLEY & HUBBARD MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A HANGING-LAMP FIXTURE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,927, dated December 6, 1887.
Application filed September .16, 1887. Serial No. 250,787. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT PATITZ, of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new De 5 Sign for the Oruameutation of Hanging-Lamp Fixtures; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact to description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent, i n- Figure 1, a side view ofa crown; Fig. 2,1111- der side view, the center being represented as 15 filled.
This invention relates to a design for the circular portions of the suspending part of the lamp-fixture; and itconsists in the configuration and ornamentation of the sides of 20 such circular portions, as shown in the accompanying illustration. These parts are circular in shape, as represented in Fig. 2; but in said Fig. 2 the central portion is represented as filled by an open-work; but this may 25 be omitted, as it constitutes no part of the invention, and as the design relates only to the sides, which are alike in both cases. The outer surface in vertical section is of cymareeta shape, as seen in Fig. 1, and the surface is represented as made up of series of narrow 3o tongues with spaces between them springing from the base, the said tongues represent-ed as connected across the said spaces one with another, the upper or tip end of the tongues terminating in an outwardly-turned scallop 5 shape above the connection between the tongues, as shown in the uccoinpanyingillustration, Figs. 1 and 2.
I claim-- The herein-described design for the ornato mentation of the circular parts of a hanginglamp fixture, the said circular parts consisting of the representation ofaseries of tongues springing from a base,said tongues presentinga cyma-recta shape in vertical section and with 5 spaces between them, the said tongues represented as connected across between the said spaces, and the tongues represented as terminating in an outwardly-turned scallop shape above the connections, as shown in the aecoino panying illustration.
