1e it known that l, (in n Ens lI.\ nicsi mpn'r, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city and eonnti of San l raneiseo, and State of California, have invented and produced a new and original l.)esign for Badges, of which the following is aspeciliration, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
My invention relates to a novel device for a pin or badge, which will be more fully explained by reference to the accompanying drawing, which is a front View of the badge.
The leading features ol the design are a representation of thc eoatiof arms of California in a central medallion or oval surmounted by the figure of a bear, while npon opposite sides are the representations olthe American flag and the original bear llag, respectively. Beneath this is a scroll, and beneath this again is a star.
A is a central medallion, which in the pres ent case is made oval in shape, and has the figure of a woman with a hear at her feet, or what is known as the coat ol arms of the State of California. Upon one sideofthis medallion Serial No. 'Z-ll'Ll'Hlfl,
is represented a United States flag, 1, depend ing from a stall, (J, and curving around one side of the medallion. Upon the opposite side, curving in a like manner, is a banner or flag, 1), depending from its staff (j, hearinga figure of a bear and a single star. I claim The design for a pin or badge, the same coin sisting of the medallion surmounted by the figure of a bear, having the scroll and star beneath, with the [lags on either side, substantially as described and shown.
