DESIGN FOR SURFACE ORNAMENTATION OF WALLS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,133, dated February 22, 1887.

Be it known that I, FREDERICK MANKEY, of \Villiamsport, Lycoming county, Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Surface Ornamentation of Walls, &c., of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, forming part hereof.
My design consists of the divisions A. rectangular in outline and alternating with the three elevations B, which elevations B are grouped togethenas shown, and have rounded upper surfaces. The divisions A and groups of elevations B alternate longitudinally the surface to form a row, as 1. The entire area of the surface to be ornamented may exhibit such rows, as 1 and 2. The divisions A of row 2 are disposed opposite the groups of eleva tions B of row 1, and vice versa. Upon the upper surface of the elevations B there may 20 appear a different grain-marking from that shown. on the surfaces A.
I claim The design for surface ornamentation of walls, &c., substantially as herein shown and 25 described, which consists in the rectangular fiat divisions A, alternating with the groups of elevations B, having upper rounded surfaces, and on said surfaces a different grain-marking from that shown on the surfaces of the divis- 0 ions A.
