To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE F. III-INSEL, a citizen nf the i'nited States, residing iu Philadelphia, li-nnsylrania, have invented a new and original Design for l-ringe Heading or Trimming, of which the following is a speci iieatiou.
My design is shown in the accompanying drawings, the lignres of which represent dit ferent forms nl fringe or trimming, all einbodying the essential features of the design.
The design comprises the upper and lower eli-e bands, n and b, and the intervening openwork band, d. This open-work band is the leading feature of the design, and it consists of pillars crossing from the band ato the band b, thest` erosspillars being substantially parallel and being of different widths, the wide and narrow pillars` alternating with each other. The crossvpillars| are such as to present a close or solid effectw the individual strands not boing separated or prominently noticeable. The bands may have at intervals close blocks f, asin Figure l; bntthis isa minor feature ofthe design, and is not shown in Figs. 2 and 3.
The order of alternation of the wide and narrow pillars maybe varied without departing from the essential feature of the design,

In fringes the pendent portion of the fringe maybe either straight or looped, my design having no reference to this portion.
I claiml. The within descr ined design for fringe heading or trimming, :said design consisting of upper and lower closilninds and an inter Veni-ng open-work band with alternating wide and narrow cross-pillars, substantially parallel and presenting a close or solid effect, all sul stantially as described and shown.
