SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No 16.765, dated July 6, 1886.

Be it known that I, \VILIEUR F. RnowN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Comb or Brush Box, of which the following is a specification.

This design has for its object to provide a novel comb or brush box having a striking and peculiar appearance.

The design is illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure l is n perspec tive view of a square comb or brush box made according to my design, and Figs. 2 and 3 perspective and side views, respectively, showing modifications.

In the drawings the numeral 1 indicates the box-body, and 2 the lid or cover, each pro vided with a series of oblique or spiral stripes of contrasting color, which are alternately arranged, fiist one color and next a different color, and so on.

The line of separation between the box-body and lid or cover is indicated by the numeral 3. It may be transverse, as in Figs. 1 and 3, or longitudinal, as in Fig. 2.

In Fig. 1 the box and its lid are square in crossseetiou, and the top of the lid is pyramidal in form, while the base of the box is Serial No, 102,086

furnished with ledges of varying width and of contrasting colors.

In Fig. 2 both ends of the box are flat, and in Fig. 3 the box is circular in cross-section, and the top end of the lid is conical in form.

Having thus described my invention, what i claim, is-

l. A comb or brush box consisting of the box body 1 and the lid or cover 2, having the line of separation 3 between them, the said body and lid each provided with oblique or spiral stripes of contrasting colors alternating with each other, substantially as shown and described.

2. The design for a comb or brush box, consisting of the box-body l and the lid 2, having the line of separation 3 between them, said body and lid being provided with oblique stripes of contrasting colors alternating with each other, and the body having at its base the ledges of varying width, substantially as shown and described.
