DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,514, dated November 4, 1884.

Be it known that I, MILTON R. Lou DON, of Jersey City Heights, county of Hudson. State of New Jersey, have invented and produced by my own industry, genius, eiforts, and expense a new and original Design for a Carper, of which the following is a correct description, reference being had to the annexed photograph, which represents a face View of my new carpet.
This invention relates to a new ornamentation of a carpet, oil-cloth, or similar fabric; and it consists of the novel grouping and out lines of figures, hereinafter described.
In the photograph, the letter A represents a large rosette supporting three upwardlyprojecting stems, a a, which are traversed by a fanciful figure, B. On each side of the figure A are upwardly-projeeting posts b I), which are traversed by similar figures, 13. Next to these are upwardly-projecting posts (I, which carry rosettes 0. Next to these are rosettes D, placed in a series of horizontal bands, 0 c. said bands terminating in rosette-shaped points f. Above the field which contains the figures already described is a band, E, containing rosettes g h 11 and fanciful figures j.
I claim- 1. The design for a carpet or other fabric, the same consisting of the figures A B O D a b d ef, substantially as shown.
