DESIGN FOR A CLOCK-CASE'FRONT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,126, dated July 8, 1884.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WALTER D. DAVIES, of the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original'Design for a Clock-Front, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a front view of a, clock-front of my design, representing all the details of one half, but showing only the outline of the other half, which is an exact counterpart of that represented in detail. Fig. 2 is a profile view.
Ihe front is composed of a frame, A, having an opening for the dial and a supportingstandard, B, for said frame, the profile being nearly flat, but the ornamentation being in relief.
The standard B is composed of two winged lions sejant and addorsed, and an interposed fioriated column, b.
The general form of the frame A is elliptical. At each side are two pieces of scrollwork ornamentation, one of which, 0 d, extends from the column I) nearly to the center of the side, and the other of which, 0 f, extends from a point near the middle of the side nearly to the top.
Between (1 and e, at the junction of the upper and lower scroll-work, is a foliated ornament, 9, and between the upper parls f, ofthe upper scroll-work is a group of leaves and flowers, h ij 7:, which appear to run over the scroll-work, and from which there runs a string of flower-buds, l, reaching to the lower part c of the scroll-work.
Between the parts 0 and (I there is on the outer margin a foliated and fiorinted ornamentation, m n.
\Vhat I claim, and desire to secure by Let ters Patent, is
1. In a clock-front, the design of the dinl frame, consisting 01' the scroll-work c d and r f, and the foliated and florinted ornaments g 7: ij k l m n, as herein shown and described.
2. In a clock-front, the design of the dialfrmne and its snpportirig-standard, consisting of the scroll-work c d and of, the foliated and floriated ornmnents g h i' It I m n, and the winged lions sejnnt and nddorsed, and the foliated and fiorinted column b, interposed between the said lions below the said scrollwork and folinted nndiloriated ornaments, all as herein shown and described.
