DESIGN FOR A CUSPIDOR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,483, dated December 11, 1883.
Application tiled October 2, 1883. Term of patent'years. Patented in France December 26, 1882, No. 1.80.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GUsTAv VoGT, of Limoges, in the Republic of France, have invented a new and original Design for a Cuspidor, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings` making part of this specification, in which- Figure l is a side View of a cuspidor made.
according to niy design, and Fig. 2 is a plan of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
This design relates to cuspidors; and it consists of a cuspidor composed of a triangular mouth having rounded-off corners and Haring sides, the latter being slightly inwardly curved near the corners, and having an outward swell or bulge at the center, and of a triangular body, the lower part of which swells outwardly from the base and the upper part inwardly toward the neck, the corners being rounded off and the sides slightly inwardly curved near the corners and outwardly bulged at the center.
The mouth A of the cuspidor is made triangular in its general contour and flaring inwardly toward the contracted neck. The sides a are slightly drawn in or concaved near the corners and eonvexly bulged at the center, so as to form a graceful curve between the corners ofthe cuspidor. The corners B are rounded oil', so as to complete the curved contour of the mouth. The body C of the cuspidor is also made triangular in its general contour, with conveXly-bulging sides E, and aring fromiits base in an upward and outward direction for about one-third of its height, and then inwardly and upwardly to the contracted part of the neck of the cuspidor. The sides of the body C correspond to the convexlybulging contour of the mouth, the angles or corners E being also rounded off, so that the cuspidor presents an elegant and graceful appearance.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Paten t- The design for a cuspidor, composed of a triangular mouth having rounded-off corners and flaring sides, the latter having a slight inward curve near the corners, and an outward swell or bulge at the center, and of a triangular body, the lower part of which swells outwardly from the base and the upper part inwardly toward the neck, said body having rounded-off corners and sides which are slightly inwardly curved near the corners and outwardly bulged at the center, as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed it this 31st day of August, 1883.
GUSTAV VOGT.
