SPECIFICATION.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be itknowu, that we, JAMES HonToN and JOHN MARTINO, both of the city of Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented or produced a new and original design for the Plates of a Parlor Stove, termed the Patriot; and we do hereby declare the accompanying drawings, with the following explanation of the same, to form a full, clear, and exact description of the said design.
Fig. 1 of the drawingrepresents the bottom plate of the stove.
Fig. 2, the top plate; and
Fig. 3, the fire-door plate.
The top plate, fig. 1, ofthe stove, is ofthe form shown in the drawing, and has four ornamented mouldings, namely: the exterior moulding a; within the latter a second moulding b, which surrounds a third moulding c, within which is the fourth moulding d; the ornaments of the different mouldings, which are clearly represented, being di'erent in character and design.
In the centre of the plate is an elevated and ornamented boss e, with openings, and in the rear ofthe plate is an elevated capf, ornamented with ribs.
The bottom plate, fig. 2, is ofthe form shown, and has the four mouldings h ij and c, all being ofthe different designs clearly illustrated in the drawing.
The front of this plate has an ash-pit door m with a foliated ornament, and above the latter door is a smaller door n with a similar ornament.

The fire-door plate, fig. 3, consists oftwo oolumnsp and q, terminating below in ornamented bases, and Yabove in ornamented capitals. The columns are connected together above bythe ornamental cross-piece t, and below by an ornamental cross- 'piece u, the door itselfbaving the openings v v, the edges of which are ornamentf ed in the manner illustrated, the upper portion ofthe door having the word x Patriot in raised letters.
We claim the combination of the ornamental figures and forms represented in and by the accompanying drawing, forming' together an ornamental design for the plates ofe. parlor stove.
