SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,025, dated July 3, 1883. Application filed May ll, 1883. Term of patent 35 years,
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, DAVID WV. LAIRD, of the city and county of San Francisco, State of California, have invented and produced a new 5 and original Design for a Masonic Emblem or Jewel, of which the followingisaspecification.
My invention relates to a novel design fora Masonic jewel or emblem, which will be more fully described by reference to the accompany- 10 ing drawing, in which the figure is a view of my design.
It consists of a Maltese cross, having the arms A A. In the central portion, where these arms meet, is a shield B, having within it the coat of arms of the State ofCaliforni-a. In the arms I 5 of the cross are spaces for words. The cross is suspended by a link, (7, from a bar, D, or it may be connected with it rigidly, and upon this stands the figure of a bear, E.
Having thus described my design, I claim- 20 The design for an emblem or jewel, consisting of a Maltese cross, with the inclosed coat of arms and the surrounding letters, together with the superposed figure of a bear, as shown.
