DESIGN FOR FRINGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,817, dated March 27, 1883.
Application filed January 29, 1883.

Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN AUGUSTUS SCHMIDT, of thecity,coimty,and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Design for Fringes, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, which represents a piece of fringe illustrating my design.
The leading feature of my design consists ot'a series of groups of chenille threads suspended t'rom a head and separated by interposed ornaments.
A represents the head of the fringe, from which are suspended chenille threads B, arranged in groups of two or more. At thelower end of each chenille thread B is a terminal ball or button, 0. Above each group ot'chenille threads Bis achenillethread, D,arranged in arched form. Between each two adjacent groups of chenille threads B is interposed an ornament, E, suspended from the head A by threads F, and having at their lower ends balls or buttons G, suspended by threads H. This interposed ornament may be made in different ways and of various materials without departiug from my design.
Having thus fully described my invention, I claim asnew and desire to secure by Letters Patcut- 'lerm of patent 14 years.
1. The design for a fringe herein shown-and described, the same consisting of a series of groups of chenille threads, B, suspended from a head and separated by interposed ornaments.
2. The design for a fringe, consisting of chenille thread suspended from the head A, varying alternately in height orlength, and terminating with balls or buttons, as shown and described.
3. The design for a fringe herein shown and described, the same consisting of a series of groups of chenille threads, B, suspended from ahead provided with terminal balls or buttons 0, and separated by interposed ornaments.

5. A fringe design consisting of three chenille threads, B, surmounted by. a chenille thread, 1), on their head A, and having the middle thread, B, extended below the others, as shown and described.
