DESiGN FOR A CARRIAGE-STEP.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,426, dated November 14, 1882. Application filed August 2, 1882. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, JOHN L. POPE,of Cleveland,in the county of Cnyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design to r Uarria ge-Steps, of which the following is a specification,reference being had to theaccompanyingphotographicillustration, forming part thereof.

My invention relates to a design for carriagesteps; and it consists in the shown surface ornamentation of ribbed work, as will be hereinafter more particularly described.

In the step illustrated by the photograph accompanying this specification the pattern will be seen to be composed of ribbed work a, and at about the center of the plate a cross, I), is formed, from each of the four extremities of which extends similar raised ornamentation, running in inultitndinous directions until the four edges or sides of the square step 20 are reached as plainly shown. The ribbed work forms at near each corner a cross, 0, similar in shape to the one in the center of the plate. The four dark spaces in the center of the step indicate openings; but they are not 25 essential to the novelty of my design.

I claim as my invention- A design for carriage-steps, composed of raised or ribbed work having substantially the appearance shown. 0
