SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,884, dated October 31, 1852.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN L. PHPE, 0t Cleveland, in the county of Unyahog'a and State 0ft ()hio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for \Vear-Irons, of which the i following, is a spceilimition, reference being had 10 the accompanying engraving, forming part thereof.
Thisinvcntion of niinehas reference to a new design for the wear-ironsof carriages and other vehicles; and it consists in certain t'vatnrcs ot' ornamentation, which will he hereinafter more particularly dcscrihcd.
In the accompanying engraving it will he Seen ihatthe wear-iron isadorncd with a round rib or head, a, t'ollowinp, the external shape of the upper portion of the article, the ends of which are lornied with inner and ontrr curves, marked respectively I) and c. A wear-iron having the ornamental head a vxtemlingaroninl to the ends of the article, and curving inwardly and outwardly thcreat, as at I: c, substantially as shown and described. 1.. A weaniron having its middle portion provided with openings,substantiallyasshown at r w, an I herein dcsc ihed.
