DESIGN FOR A JACKET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,052, dated July 18, 1882.

T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MANNING A. KING, of the city of New York, in the county and State of New York, have originated and produced a certain new and Improved Design for the Ornamentation of Jackets, of which the following is a specification.

The character of my design is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 represents a front view of a jacket embodying my design. Fig. 2 represents a back view thereof; and El g. 3 represents a section of a portion of the front upon the dotted line as m, Fig. 1.

Similar letters of reference designate corresponding parts in all the figures.

A A designate the two front portions of the jacket, the edges of which are lapped and-buttoned. B designates the back portion, and G designates the sleeves, of the jacket. The l'ront'portions, A, have in them narrow openings a, which extend in a direction from top to bottom of the jacket, and b designates plaited material placed behind and closing said openings, with the plaits transversely to or across the openings, and visible through the openings, as shown in Fig. 1. The openings a are formed in the outer fabric of the jacket, and the plaited material is arranged or placed immediately behind the outer fabric. in the back B of the jacket are openings 0, which ex tend in a direction from top to bottom of the jacket on each side of the center, and have plaited material b behind .them and visible through them, as before described. In the center of the back B, near the bottom of the jacket, is a short opening, (I, behind which plaited material bis placed. In each sleeve, near the end, is an opening, 0, extending transverse to or across the sleeve, and having plaited material arranged behind it and visible through it.

I may provide a jacket with all the openings a c d c with plaited material "isible through each; or I may employ any of the openings in a jacket without the others.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Let ters Patent, is-

1. The design for the ornamentation of a jacket, consisting of the openings a and the plaited or fluted material b, as herein described.

2. The design for the ornamentation of a jacket, consisting of the openings 0 and the plaited or fluted material I), as herein de scribed.

3. The design for the ornamentation of a jacket, consisting of the opening d and the plaited or fluted material b, as herein described.

4, The design for the oinamentation of a jacket, consisting of the openings 0 and the plaited or fluted material I), as herein described.

5. The design for the ornamentation of a jacket, consisting of the openings a, c, and e and plaited or fluted material I), as herein described.
