DESlGN FOR A STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,603, dated December 20, 1881.
Application filed November 19, 1881. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that We, H. CLAY BASCUM, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Troy, in the county of Itensselaer and State of New York, and Tomas S. HEISTER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the village of Lansiugbnrg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stove, of which 10 the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanyingcut, print, or engraving of a stove which embodies said new design.
The design for the hooded urn A is not a part of this invention.
The design for the urn base B consists of the concave upper molding, a, having the connected series of peculiar ornamentations a, in combination with the lower convex molding, b, having thereon the series of semicircular 2o arches b bordered inside by scallop edgings, and the series of three-leaf ornaments 0 under each arch, and all shaped and arranged substantially as represented in the aforesaid print.
The design for the upper frontpanel, 0, consists of the oblong rectangular block-form part d, having parallel sides and the semicircular projections e at the ends, the name-tabletfextending diagonally across the part at and having the inturned angular end parts, f, the di- 0 agonally-opposite radial corner ornaments, g, and the incut plant-form ornament h, partly covered by said name-tablet, all shaped and combined substantially as shown in the accompanying engraving.
The design for the lower front panel, D, consists of the representation of a boat, i, with upcurved ends on wavy water j, two human figures k l, seated face to face in the boat, one holding a. harp and both covered by an over spread sail or awning, an, and all surrounded by a border, n, and the whole shaped and combined so as to present substantially the appearance represented in the accompanying cut.
The design for the end panel, E, consists of the representation of a crested human figure, 0, in female attire, and standing on plantclothed ground p, and holding a shield, q, the same having a border, 1', and all shaped and arranged so as to present substantially the appearance shown in the aforesaid print. 0
The design for the legs consists of the representation of a growing inclined palm-tree, t, with foreground and background u bordered by a circle, v, open at the top and having laterally-extending upper ornamental parts, w m, all shaped and combined on the convex upper portion of the leg so as to appear substantially as represented in the accompanying engraving.
What we claim as ourjoint invention is- 1. The design for the urn-base B, composed of the parts a ct and b b 0, all shaped and ar ranged together as shown and described.
2. The design for the upper front panel, C, consisting of the parts d eff g h, all shaped and combined as set forth.
3. The design for the lower front panel, D, composed of the parts tjk lm n, all shaped and arranged as described.
4. The design for the end panel, E, composed of the'parts op q r, all shaped and arranged as described.
5. The design for the legs, composed of the parts t u o w at, all shaped and arranged as described.
