DESIGN FOR WATCH-SIGN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,254, dated May 10, 1881.
A pplicaiinn liled December T, 1880. Term of patent 2% years To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, L. SoLoN (incur, a citizen ot the United States, residing at; Chicago, in the county of (lock and State of Illinois, have invented and produced anew and original Design for atch-Signs, cl" which the fol lowing is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which the figure represents an elevation otoue side of my watch-sign.
The leading feature of my design consists in arranging on the periphery of the watclrdisk, and on each side of the pendant, a figure rcpresenting Time. A frame resembling a pair of spectacles is attached to the lower edge of the disk, below such figures; but this frame can be omitted, if desired.
A is the disk, painted on each side to represent an open-faee watch, and having pendant B, milled head a, and ring 0.
.I) I) are the figures of Time, formed alike on each side, and secured to the periphery of the disk A, on opposite sides of the pendant B. Each figure is represented as carrying a, scythe or sickle, b.
The frame E,resemblinga pairol' spectacles, is secured (lllTCLLY to the lower edge otthe disk A, but may be omitted.
The parts may be made of wood or metal, or both, in any suitable manner.
The sign is tastefully ornamented in colors and gold-leaf, and has the same appearance from either side.
